Romano Baratta effettua la sua ricerca artistica analizzando i fatti contemporanei, il sociale e la politica attraggono la sua attenzione. Base del suo lavoro sono video ed installazioni luminose.
I suoi video sono essenziali. Oggi siamo circondati da immagini, immersi da effigi, non riusciamo a comunicare senza di esse. Baratta, al contrario, riesce ad esprimere grandi pensieri,
concetti ricercati, senza l’immagine, pulisce il video dal surplus ed utilizza solo l’essenza del testo
scritto e del suono. I suoi video tanto sono ridotti all’osso tanto sono infiniti nel loro essere simbolo.
Le installazioni luminose ci ammaliano modificando e stravolgendo l’ambiente. Con maestria l’artista scrive nello spazio con una luce emblematica che ci indica il percorso meditativo da seguire; l’audio che accompagna le installazioni, spesso un ritornello di strofe o musica ripetuto all’infinito, ci obbliga a porre l’attenzione su un determinato particolare.

Chi è Romano Baratta? Sono un artista d’arte contemporanea ed un lighting designer. Un attuatore della logicità pura e del pensiero libero. Anarchico, religioso e razionale. Paladino della vera giustizia. Un sognatore con i piedi per terra.
Qual'è il tuo scopo nell’essere artista? Rivoluzionare l’arte e rimanere nella storia al fianco dei grandi artisti di tutti i tempi. Subliminare l’umanità e renderla migliore. Aprire gli occhi alla gente e indurli ad usare la testa. Offrire un sogno a tutti.
A tuo parere la gente come si approccia alla tua arte? Molti vengono affascinati dalla mie installazioni di luce... per loro è come vedere una gigantesca pittura. Si sentono come innanzi ad una visione fantastica. Sono poco attenti nell’apprendere i miei messaggi audio, forse perché molti di questi danno fastidio. Ciò succede sia per l’audio dei video che per quello delle installazioni. Alcuni non comprendono fino in fondo i video... bisognerebbe ricordare loro che l’arte è prima di tutto costituita di sperimentazioni e ricerche e non di begli oggetti da appendere in casa. Una delle massime manifestazioni dell’umanità e della sua cultura. Fare l’artista è come fare lo scienziato... serve a migliorare la civiltà anche se delle volte ci sono cose non facilmente comprensibili.

Religione, chiesa, spiritualità… ma anche cose mai dette, pensieri mai dichiarati, questo è il nuovo lavoro di Baratta che si spinge oltre la realtà che conosciamo e ricerca quello che forse è stato pensato ma mai espresso. Il primo di una serie di lavori su personaggi famosi, uomini che sono stati
importanti per il nostro passato e presente.

Romano Baratta
Romano Baratta realizes his artistic research analizing contemporary events, his attention is drawn by society and politics. Videas and shining installations are the basis for his work. They're essential. Nowadays we are surrounded by images, by pictures and we are not able to communicate without them. Baratta, on the contrary, can express great thoughts or refined concepts without images, he clears the video from its surplus and only uses the essence of the written text and of sound. So much are his video reduced so much are they unendless in their being a symbol. Bright installations fascinate us modifying and distorting the environment. Skillfully the artist writes in the space with an emblematic light which shows us the meditative path we have to follow, the soundtrack of the installations, often a refrain or music endlessly repeated, forces us to pay attention to as certain particular.

Who is Romano Baratta? I'm a contemporary artist and a lighting designer. The one who puts in to operation pure logicality and free thought. Anarchic, religions and rational. A paladin of justice. A dreamer with feet in the ground.
What's your aim in being an artist? It's to revolutionize art and stay within history next to the great artists of all times. Sublimate mankind and make it better. Open up people's eyes and make them use their own mind. Let everyone dream!
In your opinion, how do people approach your style art? Lots of them are fascinated by my lighting installations…for them it's like seeing a huge painting. They feel as if they were in front of a fantastic vision. They don't mind the acoustic of my videos, maybe because some bother them. It happens both for the sound of videos as for the installations. Some people don't understand videos deeply…we should remind them that art is first of all built of experiments and research and not of beautiful objects to hang in one's house. One of the greatest achievements of mankind and of its culture. Being an artist is like being a scientist…it's necessary for making mankind better even if sometimes things are not easily understood.
Last work:
Religion, church, spiritually…but even things never said before, thoughts never Expressed, this is Baratta's new creation, which carries us beyond.
